Quick 30mins analysis of hypes from 2010 – 2016 and what to focus on now

I have recently listened to the Tim Ferris podcast with Matt Mullenweg. Very inspiring guy (guy behind wordpress) and out of all Matt says, these few points were the one that stood out most:

1. Try to find a band where you are a worst musician. Why? With right attitude, that is the best environment for learning.  You can simply learn the most.
2. If you lack previous coding experience, to improve your hiring experience do some opensource project, bring something back to community
3. If someone has those four things — work ethic, taste, integrity, and curiosity — I believe that you can learn anything in the world.
4. That they use apps like: Google Apps, Slack, Zoom, Calm
5. Find what was a hype 3 or 4 years ago and focus on that

So I have looked at last point. And here are the finalist, that have much less attention before but has still imo potential and already been funded through hype cycle

• Augumented reality
• 3D printing
• Cloud computing
• IoT
• Bitcoins
• Micro payments

Which project would you choose and why? Just something to think about ?
