ITRX EUR

Although I am aware of what CDS means and “how it works” (in a dumb way) the correlation between futures, stocks, bonds and fx is still bit of a mystery for me. Recently I have come across the ITRAXX EUR which is a CDS index based on insurances of some European companies. After few minutes of search I have found out here (filter for itraxx eur), what companies are in this index.
